A book stand is a great gift idea for every true lover of books. Currently tendered models vary from straight forward wire creations like the Fold’N'Stow that holds a book at user selectable angles on just about any flat surface, to the elegantly conceived and executed LEVO Bookholder which secures a book or other reading material in either a floor stand design or a clamp-on model that easily fastens to any table, desk, or counter top. Most book stand models work best with hardcovers, but they also can work very nicely with paperback books when they are held by book holders like an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is among the least expensive of book stands. It folds compactly for easy storage and transport and is sold with it’s own plastic pouch designed for use in a three ring binder. It can be used on a countertop for cook books, or atop a desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders swing out from the back plane to secure your book open, and, by adjusting how far apart the arms are, smaller and larger books are easily accommodated. The back of the stand has horizontal pieces that may be raised or lowered to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative the substrate.

The most popular model of the LEVO book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted rolling base for ease of movement from chair side to bedside to desk side to beside the kitchen counter top. Wherever you choose to put it, it will position in just about any position. With a bookboard that can be adjusted in any plane, and coupled with a book mounting system that will hold your book, even upside down, the LEVO makes reading truly hands-free just about anywhere.

The LEVO Desk Clamp on model is just as convenient as the LEVO Floor Model, but features a clamp that securely holds any desk, table, counter top, work bench or other flat surface up to two inches thick, and provides the same movements as the floor stand model, without the degree of vertical telescoping movements. By supporting your book or other reading materials up off the surface to which it is secured, the clamp on design saves the weight and expense of the rolling base while still freeing up valuable work space, since neither your book nor your book holder rest on the surface.

Even though there are other book stand designs available, the LEVO and Fold’N'Stow book stands have stood the test of time and stand up well to heavy use.
